The consulting work we do for our C2 Custom Cloud clients is varied and interesting.  We get to learn about new industries and are constantly surprised about the complexities that make each company work.

Class Act Tours is no exception.

Class Act runs tours to various destinations with a focus on accredited student tours to places of historical merit.  Of especial interest to the owners of Class Act Tours is their belief that these tours are important and that no student should be left behind because of the financial limitations of his/her family or the school’s budget.

As a result, the C2 software had to encourage and accommodate a long payment term and payments coming in from various means.  Fundraisers occurring throughout the year and small personal payments, as well as private donations are all essential to paying for many student’s excursion costs.

To accomplish this, an easy to use portal was developed for teachers to set up a tour and customize the tour based on the varied parameters that are available.  A Parent/Student portal enables student signup, partial payments and a host of other necessary controls.  A customized FAQ page is created for each tour based on the parameters of that tour.  Forms submission (permissions, insurance, medical, etc.) are accommodated to cover the legal issues and grant and fundraising opportunities can be found here.

Altogether, the site is a superb blending of the various parties’ needs.  Teachers who set up the tours get a powerful set of tools to complete a customized excursion, parents and students get a simple to use but very comprehensive portal where they can sign in, add information, get information and follow all updates as the tour date approaches.  Our client, gets a powerful backend that pulls in the portal generated information from teachers and parents/students and faces out to the companies they deal with in order to complete tour details.

The Class Act Tours site is a superb example of our client’s very clear vision of what was needed to run her business being realized through the quick back and forth that epitomizes our design development process.
